New Delhi: Multiple enforcement agencies refined strategies for tackling emerging narcotics threats during quarterly State-Level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) meetings convened by the NCB in Bihar, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh and Mizoram, an official said on Friday.

The meetings, held during the week, were steered by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), the nodal coordination authority for drug law enforcement in the country.

The JCC meetings in the four states offered a platform for detailed deliberations on strengthening intelligence sharing and financial investigations among the states, the official said in a statement on X.

Discussions also included key NDPS cases, PITNDPS, pharma diversion, use of FINex portal, along with NIDAAN and NATGRID portals and sharing details of fugitives for necessary action, it said.

The meetings witnessed active participation from representatives of the NIA, ED, DRI, Customs, Income Tax, BSF, RPF, CISF, State ANTFs, State Drug Controllers, SIBs and other Drug Law Enforcement Agencies (DLEAs), the statement said.

The JCC offered an opportunity to the NCB to share information on drug trafficking trends and emerging challenges, the need for focused action against kingpins to dismantle drug trafficking networks, effective implementation of the Vision Document on Narcotics Control and Red Flag Indicators to identify clandestine labs, among other issues, the statement said.

Earlier this month, NCB’s Second Quarter State-level Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) Meeting of 2026 for Gujarat was held to discuss strengthening intelligence sharing, financial investigation and coordinated enforcement.

Manish Kumar, NCB Deputy Director General (Western Region), chaired, and Rajiv Ahir, Intelligence Bureau Additional Director, co-chaired the meeting held on Wednesday, an official statement said.

During the discussions, officials from multiple agencies discussed issues related to follow-up on inter-state and inter-agency linkages, with participating agencies reaffirming their commitment to collaborative efforts against drug trafficking and organised narcotics networks in Gujarat, the statement said.

The NCB presented two significant NDPS cases, discussing the modus operandi, interstate linkages, investigation undertaken and areas requiring coordinated action, while the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) presented an important NDPS case, followed by a discussion on the investigation, trafficking pattern and inter-agency linkages.
