The program was organized in all 35 police districts of the state from August 15 to 31. During this period, awareness programs were organized in 1,763 schools and colleges and the anti-drug message was conveyed to more than 2 lakh students.

Maximum awareness programmes were held in 162 educational institutions in Sambalpur district, followed by 117 in Ganjam, 101 in Khordha, 85 in Rayagada and 79 in Kalahandi. In this state-wide campaign, 26 police districts led by their respective SPs, efforts of police personnel and active cooperation of educational institutions made it possible to convey the message at the grassroots level.

Students were made aware of the impact of drug use on health, family, education, life and future and were urged to actively participate in the fight against drug abuse. The campaign aimed not only at making youth aware of ill effects of drugs but also motivating them to take right and responsible decisions and involving schools, colleges, teachers, students and families as active partners.

DGP Vinaytosh Mishra said Odisha Police is committed to creating a drug-free Odisha by 2029. Anti-drug awareness and prevention programs will continue till this goal is achieved. He said the biggest strength of the campaign is the partnership of families, educational institutions, youth and every section of society with the police.

He appreciated the efforts of all SPs, police personnel, educational institutions, teachers, students and partners who made the campaign a success.
