Kataka: The Kataka Development Authority (KDA) on Tuesday celebrated its 44th Foundation Day, with Vice-Chairperson Kirandeep Kaur Sahota announcing a slew of upcoming projects, including the Mahanadi Riverfront Development, Atal Park, Baimundi Park and a Convention Centre.
Addressing the foundation day function at Windsor Place in Sector-6, Sahota said the 44-year journey of KDA reflected not only the passage of time but also the transformation and development of Kataka over the decades.
She said the Authority was undertaking several initiatives aimed at ensuring planned, sustainable and people-centric development in view of the growing aspirations of citizens. Development, she said, should go beyond physical infrastructure and focus on making citizens’ lives easier, safer and more comfortable.
KDA Secretary Janaka Kumar Nayak said the Foundation Day was an occasion to recognise the collective efforts of the Authority’s officers and employees, adding that teamwork and collective responsibility were essential to creating a better and more liveable city.
During the programme, eight KDA officers and staff members were felicitated for their commendable work and contribution to the functioning and development initiatives of the Authority.
Engineering Member Atun Kumar Samant proposed the vote of thanks. Finance Member Pranab Kumar Tripathy, Executive Engineer Uma Kumari Majhi, Deputy Finance Member Simanta Senanayak, ATP Bishnu Prasad Sahoo and Land Officer Sampad Kumar Swain were among those present.
