New Delhi: Fame India–Asia Post has selected 25 prominent police officers from across the country who have demonstrated notable work in the areas of effective police leadership, law and order, crime control, public safety, investigation, special operations, use of technology and community participation.

In addition, five officers have been included in the special ‘Super-5’ category in recognition of their outstanding performance and distinctive leadership styles.

According to Dhiraj Kumar, Editor, Fame India Magazine, the special selection thus features a total of 30 police officers. The selection has been based primarily on the officers’ field experience, leadership capabilities, decision-making skills in challenging situations, crime control, law and order management, citizen services, police modernisation and their contribution to building public trust.

SUPER-5

In addition to the above, there are several police chiefs who, despite their commendable work, narrowly missed securing a place in the Top 25. Fame India–Asia Post has therefore included five such police officers in the special ‘Super-5’ category, recognising their noteworthy contribution and distinctive leadership across different important areas of policing.

  1. Dr. Iraj Raza — Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh
  2. Adhiraj Singh Rana — CID & Cyber Crime, Andhra Pradesh
  3. R. Anand — Pathanamthitta, Kerala
  4. Gaurav Singh — Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
  5. Logesh Kumar P. — Charkhi Dadri, Haryana

According to Anil Singh, Managing Editor, Fame India, the nature of policing is rapidly changing. Along with traditional responsibilities of maintaining law and order and controlling crime, police leadership today faces emerging challenges such as cybercrime, narcotics, traffic management, women and child safety, community policing, technology-driven crime and emergency response. These challenges require new skills, adaptability and innovative approaches from police leaders.

The selected 25 officers have demonstrated effective leadership in dealing with these challenges in their respective areas of responsibility. At the same time, the officers featured in the ‘Super-5’ category have distinguished themselves through notable work and specialised leadership in important areas of policing.

The selection is not based solely on rank, seniority or position. It takes into account the officers’ actual performance, leadership capabilities, ability to operate effectively in challenging situations, crime-control initiatives, innovation and their contribution towards strengthening public confidence in the police.

The Fame India–Asia Post initiative aims to recognise and encourage police officers across the country who are playing an important role in making policing more effective, technology-enabled, accountable and people-centric in response to the changing nature of crime and emerging social challenges.

Dhiraj Kumar, Editor, Fame India, believes that this ranking will also inspire police chiefs across the country to strive for excellence in their respective areas of work, so that they too can earn a place in next year’s selection.
