Puri: An unidentified youth was found hanging from an iron railing on the rooftop behind a Durga Mandap near Puri Railway Station on Wednesday, police said.
The body was spotted by local residents, who subsequently alerted Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel. Following the information, GRP and RPF personnel reached the spot and launched an investigation.
The identity of the deceased is yet to be established. Police suspect that the youth may have been hanging from the railing since Tuesday night.
The circumstances leading to the death are yet to be ascertained. On being informed, Kumbharapada police also reached the spot and started an investigation.
