Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the deadline for submission of online applications under the ‘Bidesh Sikhyabruti’ scheme for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students from September 1 to September 18, 2026.
The Higher Education Department, in a notification, said the extension has been made for students seeking scholarship support for the academic years 2025-26 (December 2025/January 2026) and 2026-27.
The Bidesh Sikhyabruti scheme provides financial support to eligible SC and ST students pursuing postgraduate and Ph.D. courses in the top 200 foreign institutes/universities as per the latest available QS rankings at the time of submission of applications.
Students belonging to the SC/ST categories with an annual family income of up to Rs 12 lakh are eligible to apply under the scheme. A total of 50 SC/ST students will be supported through the scholarship programme.
Interested students can submit their applications online through the Odisha State Scholarship Portal at scholarship.odisha.gov.in by September 18, 2026.
