Ayodhya: Newly-appointed Ram Temple Trust CEO, Air Marshal (Retd.) Jeetendra Mishra, on Friday said he was currently trying to understand the entire system and sought the trust and blessings of devotees as he prepares to take forward the administration and development of the Ram Temple complex.

Speaking to reporters, Mishra said, “I have just arrived here and am currently trying to understand the entire system. As I said yesterday, once I understand it, I will take guidance from the Trust and follow its directions, and we will move forward with the support of our team.”

He said a detailed plan and strategy would be presented once it was prepared, while seeking patience and support from the public.

“Please place your trust in us; more importantly, we need your blessings and the blessings of Ram devotees,” Mishra said.

“With your blessings and trust, we will move forward. Please give me some time. As you mentioned, we have held meetings, visited the temple and spoken with the Trust. We will prepare a plan and have already started implementing it. You will begin to see the results in the coming days,” he added.

Mishra was selected for the key administrative position on September 2 from a pool of more than 5,000 applicants. His appointment comes at a crucial stage in the development and administration of the Ram Temple complex.

As the first CEO of the Ram Temple Trust, Mishra has moved from a distinguished military career to a major institutional responsibility at one of India’s most prominent religious and cultural sites.

His most recent military distinction was the Sarvottam Yudh Seva Medal, awarded on Independence Day 2025 for his role during Operation Sindoor. He had earlier received the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2024 and the Vishisht Seva Medal in 2013.

A veteran of more than 38 years in the Indian Air Force, Mishra retired as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command, one of the IAF’s strategically important commands.

Commissioned into the fighter stream of the IAF on December 6, 1986, he is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, the Air Force Academy and the Air Force Test Pilots School.

During his career, Mishra accumulated more than 3,000 hours of flying experience across over 18 types of fighter and transport aircraft and helicopters. He commanded a fighter squadron, served as chief test pilot at the Aircraft and Systems Testing Establishment (ASTE), and commanded two frontline air bases.

He also played a role in operationalising laser-guided bombs on Mirage 2000 aircraft during the Kargil War. The weapons were subsequently used against strategic targets, including Tiger Hill and Muntho Dhalo, during Operation Safed Sagar.
