Bhubaneswar: A truck loaded with iron rods overturned late Sunday night near Jogimunda chowk on National Highway 49 under Palalahada area of Anugola district, killing the driver on the spot.
According to reports, the vehicle was travelling from Sundargada towards Kendujhar when it suddenly lost balance and toppled onto the road. The driver was crushed under the heavy load of iron rods and died at the scene. His identity has not yet been established.
Upon receiving information, teams from the fire services and police rushed to the spot and launched efforts to extricate the body from beneath the iron rods. A large crowd gathered at the accident site as rescue operations continued.
However, the exact cause of the mishap is still under investigation.
