Bhubaneswar: Following the recent building collapse in Delhi’s Satya Niketan that has claimed seven lives so far, the Odisha government has swung into action to ensure structural safety across the state.
Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra said weak government buildings in cities are being demolished. Notices will also be issued for the demolition of unsafe private structures.
Speaking to the mediapersons, the minister also informed that notices have already been served for the demolition of several weak school buildings and Anganwadi centres. Directions have been given to raze unsafe buildings located within city limits as well. We are keeping a strict watch on this matter,” Mahapatra stated.
