Ayodhya: Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra (retd), the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Shri Ram Mandir Trust, formally assumed office on Tuesday.
The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust appointed the veteran IAF officer as the CEO of the Ram Temple Trust earlier this month. He was selected for the top post from the pool of more than 5,000 prospective candidates.
The appointment was approved during a high-profile meeting of the Trust, which considered the recommendations of the search committee constituted to select the temple’s first CEO.
Currently, Mishra is preparing for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s visit to the Ram Temple.
CM Adityanath will attend a state-level ceremony in Ayodhya on Tuesday to honour Anganwadi workers and helpers. Around 12,000 to 15,000 Anganwadi workers and helpers from across the Ayodhya division are expected to participate in the event. Around 2,000 participants each are likely to attend from Ambedkar Nagar, Amethi, Barabanki, Sultanpur, Basti, and Gonda, according to officials.
After attending the event, the Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Hanumangarhi and the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Addressing reporters, Air Marshal Mishra (retd) said: “The Chief Minister will arrive in the afternoon. He is coming to Ayodhya for official work and will certainly visit the temple for darshan. As the residents of Ayodhya and the Shri Ram Temple have always welcomed the Chief Minister during all his visits, we will welcome him in the same manner this time as well.”
The Trust members, in their presser soon after the appointment, hailed the IAF veteran’s more than 39 years of distinguished career in the service and reaffirmed belief in his extensive leadership experience, which will now move from military command to institutional responsibility.
Commissioned into the Indian Air Force on December 6, 1986, Mishra is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and served as Western Air Command chief during Operation Sindoor — India’s befitting response to the Pakistan-sponsored Pahalgam terror attack.
The CEO will have his hands full with numerous tasks, as he will be the point person for making the administration and financial management of the temple more organised and robust.
Temple management, security, staff administration, devotee facilities, and coordination among various departments and agencies will be among his primary responsibilities.
