Bhubaneswar: A giant python was rescued from a paddy field near Dwarika village in Nilagiri block of Baleshwar district.
Ramesh Malik of Juriapatna village spotted the python growling after it got entangled in a net laid in the paddy field. After seeing the python, Ramesh immediately informed the local forest department.
On receiving information, Sabuja Bahini staff Jayant Behera and Maheshwar Behera of Panchalingeswar Beat reached the spot.
Forest department employees carefully rescued the python from the net. Later, after health examination, the snake was safely released in nearby Kuldiha forest. The rescued python was about seven feet long.
