Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued a yellow nowcast warning for nine Odisha districts, forecasting light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning during the next three hours.
According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, the weather activity is likely at a few places in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, Kandhamal, Kataka, Rayagada and Sundaragada districts.
The warning was issued at 10.25 pm on Thursday, with the weather office advising people to remain alert to changing conditions and make necessary arrangements to ensure their safety.
Residents in the warned districts have been advised to keep a close watch on weather developments, particularly during thunderstorms, and plan their activities accordingly.
