Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has released Rs 9.56 crore as the first installment to eligible higher education institutions under the ‘Gyanodaya – (KG to PG Free)’ scheme. Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj on Thursday informed it through his ‘X’ handle.
The amount, which is 10 per cent of the total provision, has been directly provided to institutions through SAMS following the first phase of UG admissions for the academic year 2026-27.
‘ଜ୍ଞାନୋଦୟ – (କେଜିରୁ ପିଜି ନିଃଶୁଳ୍କ)’ ଯୋଜନା ଅଧୀନରେ, SAMS ମାଧ୍ୟମରେ ୨୦୨୬-୨୭ ଶିକ୍ଷାବର୍ଷର ପ୍ରଥମ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟାୟ ୟୁ.ଜି. (UG) ନାମଲେଖା ପରେ ଯୋଗ୍ୟ ଉଚ୍ଚଶିକ୍ଷାନୁଷ୍ଠାନଗୁଡ଼ିକୁ ପ୍ରଥମ କିସ୍ତିର ୧୦% ବାବଦ ₹୯.୫୬ କୋଟି ସିଧାସଳଖ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରାଯାଉଛି।

The Minister informed that the second installment of Rs 14.34 crore, which is 15 per cent, will be provided very soon. Under the “Gyanodaya – Shikshya Ru Samruddhi” scheme, the Government of Odisha is providing financial support to ensure free education from KG to PG, he said.
