Bhubaneswar: In view of heavy rainfall, the Malkangiri district administration has declared a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centres in Malkangiri district today.
According to reports, the district administration has declared holiday for all schools from primary to higher secondary level in the district today. The decision was taken after the IMD issued heavy rainfall alert for the district.
Besides, leaves of all government employees have also been cancelled, as per the direction of the administration. The Collector ordered the concerned authorities to keep the dry food available in the district.
It is pertinent to mention that the district has recorded a total of 804 mm rainfall, with an average rainfall of 114.87 mm. Chitrakonda recorded the highest 192 mm rainfall, followed by Khairput 142 mm, Malkangiri 136 mm and Korukonda 140 mm.
