Bhubaneswar: As Western Odisha celebrates Nuakhai, its major agrarian festival that unites families, heals old differences and centres on the sharing of newly harvested grains known as Nabanna, a striking sand animation by international sand artist Manas Kumar Sahoo is capturing widespread attention.
Sahoo created the Nuakhai Juhar sand animation at his studio in Puri. Through the artwork, he extended warm greetings to all Odias living across the state and around the world.
Speaking about the creation, the artist said, “On the occasion of the Nuakhai festival, we have presented a sand animation in Puri. Nuakhai is a major festival in western Odisha. May it bring happiness and prosperity to everyone’s lives. I wish everyone celebrates the festival with joy and enthusiasm, and may it bring happiness and prosperity to all.”
Remarkably, Sahoo completed the beautiful and colourful sand animation in just 15 minutes. Through the artwork, he has highlighted Odisha’s rich culture while spreading a message of unity and brotherhood.
