Bhubaneswar: A youth reportedly sustained critical injuries after a dry tree branch fell on his bike and pierced his stomach on the Gandakia Road under Kendrapara Sadar Police Station limits on Friday.
The injured has been identified as Pabitra Pradhan (22), son of Ajay Pradhan of Kansar village.
According to reports, Pabitra was travelling to Kendrapara town on his bike in the morning when a dry branch of a tree standing along the road fell on his bike at Kansar. A broken part of the branch pierced his stomach.
Local residents rescued him and rushed him to the District Headquarters Hospital. He was later shifted to a private hospital in Kataka as his condition deteriorated.
