Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare Department has placed a doctor deployed at Berhampur Circle Jail under suspension with immediate effect.
The suspended doctor has been identified as Dr. Susanta Kumar Panigrahi, Group-A (JB), LTRMO, City Hospital, Berhampur, who was deployed at Circle Jail, Berhampur as Specialist in Psychiatry.
According to the order issued by the department, a disciplinary proceeding against Dr. Panigrahi is contemplated. Therefore, the competent authority, in exercise of powers conferred by clause (b) of Sub-Rule (1) of Rule-12 of the Odisha Civil Services (CC&A) Rules, 1962, has placed him under suspension with immediate effect.
During the period of suspension, his headquarters will remain at City Hospital, Berhampur and he shall not leave headquarters without obtaining prior permission of the competent authority.
He will be entitled to subsistence allowance in accordance with Rule-90 of the Odisha Service Code, the order stated.
