Koraput: Two youths who allegedly snatched mobile phones from women labourers were caught by local residents in Jayapur town on Monday morning after their bike lost balance and crashed near Tarini Chhak.
As per reports, two women were on their way to work near Panchanan Mandir Chhak when two young men on a motorcycle approached from behind and snatched their mobile phones at around 10 am. The accused then sped away in an attempt to flee. However, near Tarini Chhak, the bike lost control.
The duo hit a small child and both fell to the ground. Seeing this, local residents quickly overpowered and detained the two youths. They were later handed over to Police.
Police have taken the accused into custody and launched an investigation into the incident.
