Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium (BSE: 544780 | NSE: VAML), India’s largest aluminium producer,with its Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in Jharsuguda, Odisha, has emerged as India’s second-largest SEZ (Special Economic Zone) goods exporter. In FY25-26, the company contributed US$ 3.5 Billion in exports, that translates to 6% of India’s total SEZ goods exports. This marks a significant milestone as services continue to dominate India’s SEZ export story, accounting for more than 60% of combined SEZ exports nationally according to the latest trade figures compiled by the Export Promotion Council for EOUs & SEZs (EPCES).
Vedanta Aluminium’s exports serve customers in over 60 countries across Europe, the United States, Japan and South-East Asia, among other global markets. Sustained demand from these markets — several of which enforce stringent quality, environmental and compliance standards — underscores the company’s manufacturing excellence and its ability to meet the exacting specifications required by global automotive, aerospace, and industrial customers.

Vedanta Aluminium’s export basket spans its full range of primary and value-added products, including, billets, wire rods, rolled products, primary foundry alloys, ingots alongside its low-carbon ‘Restora’ aluminium range. These products serve critical applications across automotive, aerospace, electrical, construction and packaging industries, as well as emerging applications linked to renewable energy, electric mobility, AI infrastructure and data centres.
India’s Special Economic Zones recorded roughly US$134.4 billion in combined goods and services exports during April–December 2025. Services led the way at approximately US$84.5 billion, or nearly 63% of the total, while goods exported contributed around US$49.9 billion, or about 37% of the total — underscoring the complementary roles that services and manufacturing now play in India’s global trade story.
These numbers point to a broader shift underway in India’s export landscape, with SEZs increasingly functioning as platforms for both globally competitive services and manufacturing. Vedanta Aluminium’s consistent presence in the top ranks of the country’s SEZ goods exporters reflects the growing weight Indian metals and manufacturing companies are beginning to carry in that transformation.
