Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has provided immediate medical assistance to differently-abled child Shibangi Vaishnavi Nayak following a directive from Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling.
The Minister directed the Health Department to facilitate necessary treatment after a user, Debiprasad, raised the matter on the microblogging platform X. Acting on the directive, the department made arrangements for Shibangi’s treatment at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where her hand surgery was successfully performed.
The government said necessary support was extended to ensure the child’s treatment progressed smoothly. The Minister had also extended assistance to Shibangi in 2025, including support for a hearing aid, it said.
Shibangi’s family expressed gratitude to Mahaling for his prompt intervention and assistance. The state government reiterated its commitment to providing timely medical treatment, social security and necessary support to differently-abled children and other citizens in need.
