Bhubaneswar: One person was killed and at least 10 others were injured after a DJ vehicle rammed into a stationary iron ore-laden truck near Jamankira in Sambalpur district.
According to reports, 30 members of Maa Metakani Music Party were returning from Suakathi in Kendujhar to Ichhapur in Sonepur when the accident took place. The DJ vehicle hit the stationary truck from behind near Jamankira Bypass on National Highway No. 53 under Jamankira police limits. The mishap claimed the life of one person identified as Abhi Samani, a resident of Ichhapur of Sonepur.
Following the accident, the injured were first admitted to Jamankira Hospital for primary treatment. Later, they were shifted to Kuchinda and Burla for better treatment.
Police and Fire Services personnel reached the spot and rescued the injured and sent them for treatment.
