Bhubaneswar: Keeping in view the heavy rainfall forecast in the state, the Transport Department has taken precautionary measures for passenger safety under the direction of Commerce and Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhusan Jena.
The State Transport Authority (STA) said on X that all RTOs have been put on high alert, strict control is being maintained over vehicle movement on major water-logged roads, and emphasis has been laid on 24×7 control room, night patrolling and deployment of cranes and recovery vehicles at sensitive locations.
The STA also advised commuters to be careful while driving on rainy days. It has urged drivers to maintain safe distance between vehicles, keep headlights on, not drive at high speed and not take the vehicle into deep water.
