Bhubaneswar: Under the impact of the deep depression, Odisha has witnessed extremely heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, with South Odisha being the worst affected.
According to the data released by the Special Relief Commission (SRC) office, the highest rainfall has been recorded at Tentulikhunti in Nabarangapur district with 395.0 mm in the last 24 hours.
Nabarangapur district has recorded the most intense rainfall activity in the state. After Tentulikhunti, Nandahandi recorded 344.0 mm, followed by Jharigram with 240.2 mm, Kosamgunda with 240.0 mm, Chandanhandi with 229.6 mm and Umerkote with 205.1 mm. Other stations in the district including Nabarangapur town, Raighar, Papadahandi and Dabugaon have also recorded rainfall above 150 mm.
Koraput district has also experienced extremely heavy downpour. Borigummaa recorded 307.8 mm, Kotpad 272.0 mm, Simliguda 267.0 mm and Jeypore 258.2 mm of rainfall. Laxmipur, Koraput town and Narayanpatna have each recorded rainfall close to 200 mm, while Bandhugan, Boipariguda and Kundra have recorded more than 150 mm.
In Kalahandi district, Golamunda recorded 202.0 mm of rainfall, while Kokasara recorded 152.0 mm, Jaaipatna 126.0 mm and Th. Rampur 115.4 mm.
In Balasore district in northern Odisha, Oupada recorded 128 mm and Khaira recorded 122 mm of rainfall in the last 24 hours.
Mayurbhanj region has recorded widespread rainfall in the last 24 hours. According to the data, Kulipal has recorded the highest rainfall of 362.458 mm, followed by Jenabil with 215.138 mm and Bhanjabasa with 207.01 mm. Podadiha recorded 171.958 mm, Dove 141 mm, Kabatghai 137.414 mm, Badgan 99.822 mm and Borehipani 83.82 mm.
Other stations including Pithabata recorded 73.153 mm, Kendumundi 73.66 mm, Chahala 64.2 mm, Ramatirtha 61.468 mm, Satkosia 55.88 mm, Baripada 44.196 mm, Dukura 41.91 mm, UBK 39.2 mm and Thakurmunda 33.02 mm.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature was recorded at UBK at 18 degrees Celsius, while Chahala and Borehipani recorded 20 degrees, Gurguria 22 degrees, Ramatirtha and Satkosia 24 degrees and Kiajhari recorded the highest at 25 degrees Celsius.
