Bhubaneswar: A high-level review meeting was held for repair and restoration of 1,658 lift irrigation projects under Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC).Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Energy, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment, Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management, Suresh Pujari attended the meeting and held detailed discussions.
Revenue Minister Pujari stressed on inspecting the lift irrigation projects affected and damaged due to incessant rainfall and flood situation and expediting the necessary restoration work.
The Minister advised to carry out the restoration work in coordination with the Energy Department, Water Resources Department and the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner. In view of the prolonged adverse weather conditions this year, the Revenue and Disaster Management Department is making continuous efforts for repair and restoration of projects and works of various departments affected. In this regard, the Revenue Minister has been regularly reviewing and discussing with various departments to expedite the work.
The meeting, held at the office of the Revenue Minister at Odisha Legislative Assembly, was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Energy Department Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary of Water Resources Department Shubha Sharma, and senior officials from the Office of the Special Relief Commissioner and concerned departments.
