Bhubaneswar: 2015-batch IPS officer Saravana Vivek M on Friday assumed charge as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar, succeeding Jagmohan Meena.
Saravana Vivek M, who previously served as the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Berhampur, took charge as the police chief of the state capital on Friday.
He will oversee the law-and-order situation in Bhubaneswar and focus on maintaining peace and security in the city.
Saravana succeeded Jagmohan Meena, whose resignation from government service was accepted by the Centre on September 11.
During his tenure as Berhampur SP, Saravana Vivek M was known for his efficiency and courage in discharging his duties and had received attention for his performance in handling various policing challenges.
His appointment as Bhubaneswar DCP comes with the responsibility of overseeing policing and maintaining law and order in the state capital.
