Bhubaneswar: Pension beneficiaries in Odisha who have not received their dues for the past few months are likely to get their regular pension along with arrears by October, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Minister Nityananda Gond said in a written reply in the Assembly.
According to the Minister, 20,33,959 beneficiaries are covered under the Indira Gandhi National Pension Scheme in the state, with some beneficiaries reportedly not receiving pension for nearly four months.
The delay has been attributed to various technical and system-related issues, the Minister said, adding that steps are being taken to resolve the problems and restore normal pension disbursement.
Coordination is underway among the state government, Finance Department, Centre and Treasury authorities to facilitate payment of the pending pension dues, he said.
The government is working to ensure that affected beneficiaries receive their arrears along with their regular pension by October, the Minister stated.
The SSEPD Department has an online system for pension disbursement under social security schemes, with beneficiary and DBT-related pension information available through its portal.
