Bhubaneswar: The depression over south Chhattisgarh and adjoining south interior Odisha moved north-northwestwards with a speed of 13 kmph during past six hours and lay centred at 5.30 pm today over north Chhattisgarh.
According to the Meteorological Centre, it was centred near latitude 22.0°N and longitude 82.2°E, close to south-southeast of Bilaspur, about 50 km west of Champa, 90 km south-southeast of Pendra Road and 270 km south of Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh).
It is very likely to move north-northwestwards towards southeast Uttar Pradesh across north Chhattisgarh and northeast Madhya Pradesh as a depression till evening of September 26.
Continuing to move further north-northwestwards, it is very likely to weaken gradually into a well-marked low pressure area during subsequent 12 hours. The system is under continuous surveillance by the Doppler Weather Radars at Sambalpur and Raipur.
