Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday approved 19 industrial investment proposals involving a cumulative investment of Rs 3,280.58 crore, with the potential to create 10,661 employment opportunities, an official release said.
The approvals were accorded at the 150th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The projects span textiles and apparel, technical textiles, food processing, steel downstream, Global Capability Centres, biofuel, chemicals, circular economy, plastics and tourism, reflecting the state’s focus on value-added manufacturing and diversification of its industrial base.
The projects will come up across Anugola Debagada, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Kataka, Khordha, Koraput, Puri and Sundaragada. An Indian Oil Corporation project for compressed biogas will be spread across eight districts.
Among the major proposals, Dollar Industries will set up an integrated hosiery manufacturing unit in Khordha with an investment of Rs 125 crore and an employment potential of 1,185. Sai Workwear Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 59 crore in an integrated technical textiles unit in Puri, expected to create 3,650 jobs.
In food processing, Geofast Industries (India) Ltd will establish a snacks, savouries and namkeen manufacturing facility in Khordha with an investment of Rs 120 crore, generating 350 jobs. Jai Bhawani Foods Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 100 crore in a food and confectionery co-packaging unit in Kataka, creating 550 jobs.
Three steel downstream projects were also approved. SPS Arihant Steel Structures Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 140 crore in manufacturing facilities in Deogarh, with an employment potential of 595. Steeledge Fabrication will establish a fabrication and machining unit in Sundargarh with an investment of Rs 108.82 crore and 375 jobs, while Bhubaneswar Udyog Pvt Ltd will invest Rs 101.99 crore in a facility for colour-coated and GI sheets and structural components in Kataka, creating 130 jobs.
Tata Power will establish a Global Capability Centre in Khordha with an investment of Rs 54.31 crore and 110 jobs.
The biofuel sector accounted for major investments, with IOC set to establish 39,600 TPA compressed biogas facilities across Baleshwar, Balangir, Baragada, Ganjam, Kalahandi, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj and Subarnapur at an investment of Rs 960 crore. The project is expected to generate 760 jobs. Kineta Global Ltd will set up an 8,250 TPA CBG facility in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 170 crore and 170 jobs.
In chemicals, Aquaproof Wallcare India Pvt Ltd will establish a construction chemicals manufacturing facility in Kataka with an investment of Rs 62.64 crore, creating 135 jobs. Asipiya Chemicals and Solvent Pvt Ltd will set up a petroleum and petrochemical solvent distillation unit in Jagatsinghpur with an investment of Rs 60 crore and 75 jobs.
Ramuka Global LLP will establish an iron and steel slag processing facility in Anugul with an investment of Rs 50.15 crore and an employment potential of 411, while Shri Dakshineshwari Maa Polyfabs Ltd will invest Rs 401.63 crore in a PP woven and non-woven fabric and bags manufacturing facility in Khordha, expected to create 490 jobs.
Five tourism projects were also cleared in Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Koraput and Puri. These include a five-star hotel in Ganjam by BBB Hotel Pvt Ltd with an investment of Rs 208.04 crore and 300 jobs, and a five-star beach resort in Puri by Hotel Sea Pearl Orissa Pvt Ltd in partnership with ACCOR, involving Rs 180 crore and 630 jobs.
Highland Hotels & Resorts Pvt Ltd will establish a four-star resort in Jharsuguda with an investment of Rs 150 crore and 250 jobs. Puri Eco-Tourism and Resorts Pvt Ltd and Odyssey Leisure Pvt Ltd will set up four-star resorts in Puri and Koraput with investments of Rs 124 crore and Rs 105 crore, generating 305 and 190 jobs, respectively.
Garg said the approvals reflected the growing diversity of Odisha’s investment landscape, with emphasis on productive employment, value addition, supply-chain development and regionally balanced industrial growth.
The government said the investments are aligned with its broader vision of Samruddha Odisha 2036, focusing on value-added manufacturing, employment generation, stronger industrial ecosystems and sustainable economic growth.
