Bhubaneswar: The Central Excise Department Unit-2, Cuttack registered an NDPS case on Tuesday and seized 110 grams of brown sugar along with a bike.
The accused have been identified as Praananath Mohanty (22) and Biswanath Behera (20), both residents of Tinigharia village under Madhupatna police station in Cuttack.
According to officials, the contraband and the vehicle were seized near Kali temple under Chualiaganj police station area. The estimated market value of the seized brown sugar along with the bike is around Rs 11.5 lakh.
Both accused have been forwarded to court and further investigation is underway. Sub-Inspector Urmila Behera along with senior excise constables Rajesh Kumar Kishan, Basant Kumar Mallick and Satyabrat Sahu were involved in the raid.
