Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for several districts of Odisha for the next two days with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty wind likely to occur.
For Day 1, which is valid upto 08: 30 am of October 02, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghapur and Mayurbhanj.
For Day 2, which is valid from 08: 30 am of October 2 to 08:30 am of October 3, the IMD has issued a Yellow Warning. As per the forecast, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with wind speed reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khordha and Nayagada.
The department has advised people to remain alert during thunderstorm activity and stay at safe places.
