Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has revised the effective date of regularisation of Junior Teachers (Schematic) recruited during 2023-24, ordering their regularisation as Assistant Teachers with effect from January 1, 2026.
The School and Mass Education Department, in a notification issued on Thursday, said the Junior Teachers engaged through the due recruitment process and continuing in service would be regularised as Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) of the Elementary Cadre, subject to fulfilment of prescribed conditions.
The latest notification supersedes an earlier departmental order issued on April 2, 2026, concerning the regularisation of the Junior Teachers.
As per the order, the period of service rendered by the Junior Teachers from their respective dates of initial joining till December 31, 2025, will be treated as service rendered in schematic or contractual capacity.
The period will not entitle them to claim regular cadre seniority or any consequential regular service benefits for the period preceding their regularisation.
The teachers covered by the notification will, however, be entitled to regular pay and other admissible service benefits applicable to Assistant Teachers in Level-V(A) from January 1, 2026, subject to government rules and instructions.
The notification was issued by the School and Mass Education Department on October 1, 2026, and ordered to be published in an extraordinary issue of the Odisha Gazette.
