Bhubaneswar: Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL) organised a Walkathon at Ekamra Kanan in Bhubaneswar to mark Gandhi Jayanti today with the message ‘Walk for a Better Tomorrow.’
The initiative aimed to promote health, physical fitness, discipline and a sense of collective responsibility among employees and stakeholders.
“Fit to Think, Fit to Plan, Fit to Build and Fit for the Nation” was the central message of the Walkathon. The initiative highlighted the importance of a healthy and fit workforce in effective planning, efficient execution and nation-building.
The Walkathon was inaugurated by Bighnaraj Purohit, Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary, Department of Water Resources, and Rashmi Ranjan Nayak, Aviation Director. Director, WALMI, Chief Engineers of the Department and senior officers and employees of OCCL also participated in the programme.
The initiative was organised simultaneously at OCCL’s project offices across different districts of Odisha along with the Head Office in Bhubaneswar. Officials and employees of project offices in Sambalpur, Malkangiri, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Koraput and Cuttack, among other locations, participated enthusiastically in the Walkathon, reinforcing the message of health, fitness and collective responsibility.
