Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal on Saturday inspected Puri Railway Station and reviewed the ongoing redevelopment works, passenger amenities and operational preparedness.
During the inspection, Funkwal took stock of various infrastructure and station redevelopment works and directed officials to ensure their timely completion while minimising inconvenience to passengers.
He also reviewed passenger facilities at the station and stressed regular monitoring and continuous improvement of amenities, considering the large number of pilgrims and tourists visiting Puri throughout the year.
The ECoR General Manager further checked the quality of drinking water available at the station and directed officials to strictly maintain prescribed quality parameters. He also called for regular testing and monitoring to ensure safe and hygienic drinking water for passengers.
The Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division, along with senior officials from ECoR headquarters and the division, accompanied Funkwal during the inspection.
