Bhubaneswar: Online registration of Habishyalis for Kartika Brata in Puri will begin today, enabling women to apply for free accommodation and other facilities during the holy month of Kartika.
This year, Kartika Brata will be observed from 26 October to 24 November. Under the scheme, the Odisha government will provide free stay and related facilities to 2,500 Habishyalis in Puri, according to sources.
Selected women will be accommodated at Brundabati Nivas, the Municipal Kalyan Mandap and the Railway Tourist Complex. They will also receive organised darshan at Shree Jagannath Temple along with free Mahaprasad.
Women from all 30 districts of Odisha are eligible to apply. Applications can be submitted online through the Odisha government’s e-District portal at https://edistrict.odisha.gov.in. Registration will remain open until the designated quota is filled.
