Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorm and gusty winds across Odisha for the next three days and asked people to remain aware.
As per the forecast valid upto 08:30 am of October 8, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada and Sambalpur.
At the same time, thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind of 30-40 kmph is very likely at one or two places over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
For the period from 08:30 am of October 8 to 08:30 am of October 9, the intensity is expected to spread to more districts. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty wind upto 40-50 kmph is likely over Sundaragada, Jharsuguda, Baragada, Sambalpur, Debagada, Anugola, Dhenkanal, Kendujhar, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur, Nuapada and Balangir. Thunderstorm with 30-40 kmph gusty wind is also likely over Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur and Kataka.
On Day 3, from 08:30 am of October 9 to 08:30 am of October 10, thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind reaching upto 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Baleshwar, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghapur, Kataka, Sundaragada, Kendujhar and Mayurbhanj.
