Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Higher Education Department on Wednesday announced the schedule for student union elections in higher educational institutions for the academic year 2026-27, with polling to be held on October 15.
As per the schedule, the official notification for the elections was issued on October 7.
The process will begin with filing of nominations on October 9 between 10 am and 1 pm. Scrutiny of nominations will be conducted from 2 pm to 4 pm the same day, followed by publication of the list of valid nominations at 5 pm.
Candidates can withdraw their nominations on October 10 between 10 am and 1 pm, while the final list of candidates will be published at 3 pm.
A meeting on “Why I Stand For” has been scheduled for October 14.
Polling will take place on October 15 from 8 am to 2 pm. Counting of votes will begin at 2 pm and continue until the completion of counting and declaration of results.
The oath-taking ceremony and reserved day (Presidential Holiday) will be held on October 16 at 11 am.
