Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested the Principal of an Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) in Nuapada district for allegedly accepting a Rs 12,000 bribe from a worker in exchange for recommending an extension of her service, officials said.
According to the complaint, the accused had initially demanded Rs 20,000 from the worker for recommending her name for extension of service at the EMRS. Following negotiations, the accused allegedly agreed to accept Rs 12,000.
Acting on the complaint, the CBI laid a trap and caught the Principal red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant.
The accused was subsequently apprehended and further investigation is underway, the agency said.
