Udala (Mayurbhanj): An ambulance caught fire on the premises of the Udala Sub-Divisional Hospital in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday after an oxygen cylinder reportedly burst while being administered to a patient, leaving the patient dead and two others injured.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the patient was being prepared for shifting to Bhubaneswar for further treatment. The sudden bursting of the oxygen cylinder triggered the fire inside the ambulance, resulting in the patient’s death at the spot.
The ambulance driver and an attendant sustained injuries in the incident and were admitted to the Udala Sub-Divisional Hospital for treatment.
