Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Thursday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Tapan Sethi, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of R&B Sub-Division of Badachana, Jajpur, on charges of possessing disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.
The raids are being carried out on the strength of search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Judge, Cuttack.
According to a Vigilance release, a team led by three Additional SPs, 6 DSPs, 3 Inspectors and other supporting staff is conducting the searches at locations in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Puri and Jajpur.
The properties being searched are:
- Triple-storeyed building at Plot No. F/779, Sector-7, CDA, Cuttack
- Triple-storeyed building at Sidhamahavir, Puri
- Farm house with a simplex at Kantapada, Cuttack district
- Double-storeyed house at his native village Jhinkiria, PS Konark, Puri district
- House of his in-laws at Bantunia near Shiva Mandir, 42 Mouza, Cuttack
- Double-storeyed building at Kantabada, Bhubaneswar
- Office chamber of Sethi at R&B Sub-Division, Badachana, Jajpur under SE, R&B Division, Charbatia, Choudwar, Cuttack
Searches are continuing and a further report is awaited.
