Bhubaneswar: The Ganjam district administration has directed all government officers and employees to attend their respective offices on Sunday (November 1) in view of the prevailing flood situation and ongoing restoration and rehabilitation works in the district.
In an order issued on Saturday, Ganjam Collector and District Magistrate directed all officers and staff of district, sub-divisional and block offices, as well as other government establishments functioning in the district, to remain present on duty on November 1 to facilitate the effective execution of emergency response and relief operations.
The order said the decision was taken considering the urgency of emergency response, relief operations and ongoing restoration and rehabilitation work following the floods.
The Collector has warned that any deviation or non-compliance with the directive would be viewed seriously and appropriate disciplinary action would be initiated against the erring officers and staff.
The order has been communicated to all Additional District Magistrates (ADMs), Deputy Collectors and Assistant Collectors for information and necessary action.
