Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Ex-Senior Revenue Assistant (SRA) of office of Sub-Collector, Chhatrapur, currently serving at Tahsil Office, Surada in Ganjam, for allegedly misappropriating government funds amounting to Rs 8,63,200.
Following allegations of financial irregularities against Sadasiba Pradhan, detailed inquiry was undertaken by Vigilance regarding non-deposition of government funds collected in Nizarat Section of Sub-Collector’s Office, Chhatrapur between December 2023 to August 2025.
Pradhan was entrusted with managing Nizarat Section, which included maintaining government funds and Red Cross Fund.
Investigation revealed that during this period, he issued official receipt books and collected Rs 8,63,200 intended for Red Cross Fund. Instead of depositing collected money into designated bank account at SBI, Chhatrapur Branch, he misappropriated entire amount for personal gain. Pradhan is being forwarded to Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS registered a case under Section 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and Section 316(5) of BNS, 2023. Further investigation is underway.
