Bhubaneswar: A rare species Scarlet Macaw died at Nandankanan Zoological Park.
According to sources, the male parrot was not well and died while undergoing treatment. The bird was not eating and was sitting in a corner of the enclosure, following which it was shifted to the isolation ward in the veterinary care centre for treatment.
It is worth mentioning that on September 12 this year, four Scarlet Macaws (2 male and 2 female) were brought to Nandankanan from the Radha Krishna Temple Elephant Welfare Trust (RKTEWT) in Jamnagar, Gujarat, a part of Anant Ambani-led Vantara. Now only three Macaws remain.
