Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission has extended the deadline for the ongoing Door-to-Door (D2D) Survey in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, Cuttack Municipal Corporation, and the districts of Rayagada and Nabarangpur.

In a letter addressed to the Commissioners of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation and Cuttack Municipal Corporation, the Commission informed that the State Election Commissioner has approved an extension of 15 days beyond the original deadline of November 7, 2026.

The survey in the two municipal corporations will now continue till November 22, 2026. The civic bodies have been directed to ensure completion of the survey within the extended period under proper supervision and monitoring without further delay.

Separately, the Commission has also granted a further extension for Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts in view of the adverse impact of Cyclones “Arnab” and “Murasu”. Heavy rainfall and other weather-related disruptions in the aftermath of the cyclones had severely hampered survey work in the two districts, making it difficult to meet the earlier deadline of November 7, 2026.

Taking into account the difficulties faced by field-level functionaries and the need for accurate and comprehensive coverage of all eligible households, the Commission has extended the survey deadline in both Rayagada and Nabarangpur districts till November 14, 2026.

The Collectors of Rayagada and Nabarangpur have been asked to issue necessary instructions to all concerned officials to intensify survey activities and complete the work within the revised timeline.

The Commission clarified that this extension applies only to the two districts, while all other instructions related to the Door-to-Door Survey remain unchanged.
