Asika: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das on Friday visited cyclone-affected areas of Asika in Ganjam district and interacted with residents and traders to assess the damage and understand their ongoing difficulties.
Despite the passage of Cyclone Arnab, affected people continue to grapple with various hardships, Das observed during his visit.
He visited Kali Mukhi Sahi and Harijan Sahi near Kalinga Road Bus Stand, where he interacted with residents, took stock of the damage to their properties and enquired whether relief materials had reached the affected families.
The Congress leader also visited Binayak Bazar, Lakshmi Bazar and Puruna Bus Stand, where he met shopkeepers whose businesses were affected by the cyclone. He heard their grievances and inspected the damage to commercial establishments.
