Director Anupam Patnaik Receives National Film Award 2023 For Odia Feature Film Pratikshya

Bhubaneswar: Feature film ‘Pratikshya’ was awarded as the best Odia film at the national level. Director Anupam Patnaik received the National Film Award 2023 for ‘Pratikshya’ as the Best Feature Film in Odia from President Droupadi Murmu at a special programme in Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi today.

The winners of the 69th National Film Awards for the year 2023 were announced on August 24.

The award comprises Rajat Kamal and a cash award of Rs 1,00,000.

The star casts of the movie are Dipanwit Dashmohapatra, Choudhury Jayprakash Das, Barsha Patnaik, Sreela Tripathy, Roopambika Nayak, Susil Mishra, Abakash Mishra and Sidhant Mohapatra in a special appearance. It was produced under the banner of Amiya Patnaik Productions.

The film is a screen adaption of a short story ‘Bapa’ written by Sahitya Akademi award-winning eminent litterateur and journalist Gourahari Das. It was directed by Anupam Patnaik, son of noted Odia filmmaker and director Amiya Patnaik.

Pratikshya’ had also bagged the best story award at the 11th Annual DC South Asian Film Festival held in Washington DC, USA earlier in 2022.

The film portrays a father-son relationship.
