Bhubaneswar: The headmaster of a school at Ghadiamala under Rajnagar police station in Kendrapara was arrested for allegedly raping two minor girls of the same school.
The accused teacher identified as Pradip Pradhan was detained initially and arrested later based on prima facie evidence.
He will be forwarded to court today, said police.
Pradhan allegedly sexually assaulted a class V and Class VI girls in the classroom in the absence of others. The matter came to fore after the girls narrated their ordeal before their family members.
The kin of the girls lodged a complaint against the teacher at Rajnagar police station.
A case has been registered under section 376 (F), 354 (A) of IPC and Section 4 POCSO Act. The case is under investigation, said Ajay Jena, IIC, Rajnagar police station.
