Bhubaneswar: Chairman of Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) today visited Kalahandi and reviewed the development scenario in the district.
Tripathy, who is also the Principal Advisor to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, directed officials to workout a definite plan of action for elevating the development of Kalahandi to the ‘next higher phase’.
Reviewing the progress of different projects, Tripathy emphasised on promotion of local entrepreneurship and private sector investment in cash crops, sericulture, fishery, animal husbandry, food processing and other agro-based industries.
The shape of Kalahandi has transformed over the years. The district is now a rice surplus state, said Tripathy. “The district has done commendable work on COVID management. Work on expressway, irrigation and healthcare, with the proactive monitoring of the State Government has progressed very well,” he said.
“Along with implementation of Government schemes, I advised the district officials to groom local entrepreneurs. I felt very nice interacting with some successful entrepreneurs of the district, and how they have prospered with the development schemes of the State Government,” Tripathy added.
