Two Minor Girls Drown In Pond, Another Narrowly Escapes In Cuttack

Bhubaneswar: In a tragic incident, two minor girls drowned in a pond at Kurangapradhan village under Niali police station in Cuttack.

The incident took place while Sophia Khatun and Nandini Kumari were taking a bath. Another friend was rescued alive.

According to reports, three minors went to the pond to take a dip and all of them slipped into deep water. Locals present there rescued them and rushed to Mahidharpada Community Health Centre immediately.  Doctors declared two of them dead. Another girl who narrowly escaped is undergoing treatment.

A pall of gloom descended on the village following the untimely death of the two minor girls.
