Bhubaneswar: Social media sensation Ranu Mandal who has recently recorded a song for Himesh Reshammiya's upcoming film Happy Hardy and Heer suffers from depression, revealed her daughter Elizabeth Roy alias Swati in an interview uploaded on YouTube on August 9.

Swati, who is a divorcee with a son, has also denied the allegations that it is the fame earned by Ranu which made her remember the love for her mother after a gap of around 10 years.

She said that Ranu was living with her for around 7-8 years after her father's death. As Ranu is suffering from depression, she felt uncomfortable during her stay with Swati and left the home three years back. Though not in contact since then, she used to collect information about Ranu's wellbeing from a relative, Swati added.

She further admitted that as a single mother she was pre-occupied with her own problems, as earning livelihood and taking care of her son, for which she was not able to spare some time for Ranu in the last three years.

Swati asserted that she is concerned about well-being of Ranu who needs treatment for depression. She is happy as her mother is getting the benefit of media now and appealed the Government to provide a dwelling house for Ranu.
