Bhubaneswar: One personnel of the CRPF’s CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action) unit was killed in an IED blast triggered by the Naxals in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on late Saturday evening. Nine personnel were injured in the attack.
All injured were airlifted to Raipur at around 12.45 am and were admitted in a hospital. On Sunday morning an Assistant Commandant, Nitin Bhalerao, who sustained serious injured died in the hospital, Inspector General of Police (IG) Bastar, Sunderaj P, told Hindustan Times.
The Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off in the forest near Tadmetla village when a team of security forces was out on an anti-Naxal operation, added Sunderaj.
